Welcome to Bro. Paul Thigpen's Ministry web site known as "The Baptist Preacher". I have been blessed to have the privilege to serve / pastor at an Independent Baptist Church. I surendered into the ministry on July 24, 2003 and I have been serving as a pastor since June 25, 2006. God has blessed me to have seen lost souls saved, members which had not been to Church in years come back home, and others moving their membership from other Churches. I have even witnessed God bringing some out of false religions into his wonderful family through salvation in Jesus Christ.
God is to be given all the credit for these blessings!
I believe the Authorized King James Version of the Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking people, and that it is dependable for preaching and teaching of doctrine. I believe it is without error. Within it's pages we find the one and only plan of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is one qualifier I have for fellowshipping with others in the ministry because the Word of God is what our faith and hope is based upon.
Heb 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.I welcome you to come visit and hear the Word of God preached.
It is a pleasure to serve at a place where you can find Biblical teaching, Christ-centered worship and a loving fellowship. Within this site you can find information on what to expect at a worship service, what I believe, and different ways we can minister to you and your family. You are invited to join us for worship at your earliest opportunity. I would like to get to know you, minister to your family, but above all I want to encourage the lost to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, and for the born again person to be encouraged and be instructed so they can grow in their relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amo 8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
My hearts desire is when you visit us, you will find a group of believers committed to loving God, growing together and serving Christ! I want us to be a people that others find friendly, sociable, and full of Christian love. I want us to stay committed to missions both locally and globally.
** You will not find on this site a "repeat after me prayer". I believe those type of prayers bring about many false proffessions of faith. I cannot find anywhere in the Word of God where someone was told to repeat a prayer after someone else so they would be saved. We as preachers must be very careful in supporting or encouraging such as that. I try to be very careful as to which tracts I pass out, and so should all of us. There are many tracts that are real good until the very ending where they instruct someone to pray a certain prayer and be saved. If we will be faithful in preaching and teaching the Word / Plan of Salvation...the Holy Ghost will deal with that lost soul, and lead them in what they need to do to be saved / born again.
